The enzyme Nattokinase is extracted from the traditional Japanese dish “Natto”, which is made from soaked, cooked and fermented soybeans. The fermentation process is achieved by adding the bacterial culture “Bacillus subtilis”. The enzyme nattokinase is very often associated with “natural blood thinners”. Nowadays, there are many studies on the health applications of nattokinase.

Often product suppliers advertise with 20,000-25,000 FU. However, this amount refers to the FUs per gram not per capsule. This may deceive the consumer.
Other Nattokinase products contain only 30, 60 or 90 capsules.
Most Nattokinase products still contain Vitamin K and Vitamin K2.
Other suppliers often add magnesium stearates, microcrystalline cellulose, gelatine or silicones to their product.
Often other products contain gelatine (e.g. from pork), so they are unsuitable for vegans.
